For myself, the answer is no. I intensely dislike what some people do with it, and I believe it’s a legacy solution to a current problem. However, I don’t hate it. Flash Ads are horrible and chew too much CPU power. That may not be Flash’s fault, but by the time you have 2 or 3 ads running on a page, the CPU is often pegged out. I’m sure folks could write their ads to chew less processor power, but they don’t.

I’m still very, very keen to see Adobe bring the power of Flash and Dreamweaver to bare on making the HTML5/CSS3/JS usable as a development platform. I think they really have something to contribute and it would make their “Compile to iPhone” capability even more interesting. Something I would certainly be prepared to upgrade my CS for (let’s be honest, I’d be doing that for Photoshop and After Effects alone. Worth. Every. Last. Penny).

So, no. I don’t hate Flash, but I’d be happy to see the Flash runtime off my browser.
